Commitment to
Scholarship

AOII encourages all members to excel academically and has many programs designed to assist women in achieving their academic goals. Expectations are high but the support provided by scholarship programs, academic development officer resources, and fellow members makes success attainable.

Letter from the President

Alpha Omicron Pi has had such a tremendous impact on my life. If someone would have told me a year ago that I would become chapter president, I would have just kind of giggled, thought about it for two seconds, and continued on with my day. Yet here I am now, an extremely strong woman and leader of Alpha Omicron Pi. I have gained confidence and leadership skills that I would have never received anywhere else.

I was able to become the woman I am not by just attending events, but by delving deeper into our sisterhood. I looked to my role models for guidance every step of the way and took their previous knowledge of all things AOII to heart. I turned to my friends for love and support that could get me through even the most stressful times. Even just passing a smiling, friendly sister’s face on campus could brighten my day and remind me of the importance of our values within the chapter.

Being a part of AOII is being a part of something so much bigger than yourself. It is working alongside a group of women who stand for character, dignity, scholarship, and college loyalty. It is being able to enjoy the company of your sisters all day at table in the BTSU or playing card games on the floor of the chapter room. It is raising money and awareness for the multiple philanthropies that we hold close to our hearts including Juvenile Arthritis, Sisters for Soldiers, and HopefullRI. Most importantly, being a part of Alpha Omicron Pi allows each member to bond with sisters from around the world through the ritual that our four founders created back in 1897.

Alpha Omicron Pi leads women to discover things about themselves that they never thought they could be capable of. The women of AOII inspire ambition in me and everyone else that they come in contact with on a daily basis. They continue to astound me with all the exceptional things they accomplish and I am overjoyed to be a part of it all.

~I am who I am today because of AOII~
